Dreamcôte Roots

Female Founded by Brit Zotovich in 2012, Dreamcôte’s mission is to shine a spotlight on the well-farmed breadth and diversity of winegrape varieties grown in Santa Barbara County due to it’s maritime locale.

At Dreamcôte, our mission is to craft fresh, lively and vibrant wines that capture the influence of the coast as well as the spirit of the local vineyards they hail from. We exclusively source grapes grown in coastal vineyards, showcasing the diverse, responsibly farmed varietals that thrive in Santa Barbara County’s unique maritime climate. More than anything, we hope you enjoy them.

Brit Zotovich

Founder / Winemaker / Head Banana

At the age of 19, working in the cellar for Kelsey See Canyon, while studying Agribusiness, Wine & Viticulture at Cal Poly, Brit developed an early passion for experimentation in winemaking thanks to Head Winemaker, Harold Osborn.Harold sparked a curiosity that later led her to trial various ‘old-world’ winemaking techniques (carbonic fermentation and méthode ancestrale), across varietals they traditionally have not been associated with, seeking to produce fresh, vibrant wines from vineyards within the coastal Santa Barbara County wine region. Brit is now mom to one, soon to be 2! In her spare time Brit enjoys weekend morning cartoons from bed with her daughter and a cup of coffee, spearfishing/sea foraging at the Channel Islands, planting heirloom culinary plants from seed, picking fresh fruit and vegetables from her garden and hosting dinner parties.

In Dreamcôte, Brit is building a family-centric brand that embodies a deep love of hospitality – encouraging people to feel at home (an interest sparked as a child by her grandmother and mother), as well as her deep connection to the earth and the sea.

Ryan Zotovich

Partner / Winemaker / Irrigation Specialist

Ryan and Brit were both working as assistant winemakers for coastal wineries prior to graduating at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where they met while holding leadership positions in a campus wine club called Vines to Wines. They have long shared a passion for wine and coastally-farmed grapes. Since graduating Cal Poly in the first Viticulture & Enology graduating class (‘08), Ryan has worked for Amass  (Summer Water), Winc, Club W, Zotovich, Sea Smoke, Brewer Clifton and Palmina. Ryan is am amazingly patient dad. When he’s not in the winery or doing dad stuff like mowing the lawn or fixing irrigation in the garden or the orchard, he likes to ski and snowboard, spearfish at the Channel Islands and in Mexico. He is always looking for his next project.
